What are you going to do?
As an Iron Worker in shipyards, you will be responsible for onboard steel fabrication and installation work. You will work in an industrial, safety-driven environment, constructing and fitting steel components according to technical drawings and shipyard standards.
Your main tasks include:
- Assembling, measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing steel components such as supports, brackets, foundations, and penetrations on board
- Performing tack welding to position components before final welding
- TIG welding and finishing of assembled steel structures on board
- Working with hand tools, power tools, and basic welding equipment
- Reading and working from technical drawings and work instructions
- Following shipyard safety regulations and quality standards
What can you expect from us?
Employment conditions:
- Gross hourly wage between €15.50 – €19.00, depending on experience
- Net salary between €550 – €650 per week, based on a 40-hour working week
- Possibility to work overtime
- Weekly salary payments
- Clear employment contract in your own language, with the intention of long-term cooperation
Vacation & benefits:
- 25 vacation days per year (20 paid days off + 5 vacation days paid weekly together with your salary)
- 8% holiday allowance, paid once per year in May
- Pension scheme from your first working day
- Tools, work clothing, and full personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
Housing, transport & practical support:
- Certified accommodation arranged by Maintec – private single room
- Housing arranged as close as possible to the workplace
- Transport to and from work arranged by Maintec (company car)

- Full assistance with BSN registration and bank account setup, if needed

What do we expect from you?
- Experience as an Iron Worker or Steelworker in shipyards or industrial environments
- Ability to perform tack welding and TIG welding experience
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Communicative English (B1/B2 level)
- Driving licence category B
- Valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one (can be arranged by Maintec)
- Motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and in a team
